Dusty was an owner-surrender whose owner said he no longer had time for him. Dusty's owner did not take good care of him. As with all the surrendered dogs at the shelter, he was put on the kill list for the next morning. A dedicated shelter volunteer would NOT let this beautiful dog with so much potential die. She posted him on Facebook and we called in the pull several hours later. We are hoping to get him up within the next week. We will be looking for a foster home for Dusty because he is being treated for heartworm (not contagious) and needs a quiet, mellow home where he can finish his recovery. He is totally safe to be around other dogs, but shouldn't engage in too much play.
